Heart of the Valley
Welcome to the beautiful "Heart of the St. John Valley” As a visitor to Maine, one cannot lay claim to having ventured throughout the state of Maine until they have seen Aroostook County, and cannot testify to have seen the entire County until they have seen the St. John Valley. Madawaska, the most northeastern town in the state of Maine and the United States is located in the Heart of the St. John Valley.
From Portland, Bangor and points south in the U.S.:
Take I-95 North to exit 302 for US-1, Houlton/Presque Isle. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto North Road. North Road becomes US-1. Continue on US-1 for approximately 98 miles to Madawaska.
From Moncton, Fredericton and points east in the Atlantic Provinces:
Take the Trans Canada Highway west to Edmundston. Follow the signs south to the U.S. Border Crossing.
From Montreal, Quebec City and point’s west in Canada:
Take the Trans Canada Highway east to Edmundston. Follow the signs south to the U.S. Border Crossing.
