- Northern Maine Community College was established in 1961, and the first class entered the college in 1963. Today, NMCC impacts over 2,000 students annually through various programs.

- St. John Valley Associates is a day habilitation center for adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities and Autism. We are located in Madawaska, Maine one of the four corners of the United States. Currently St. John Valley Associates serves 33 individuals in the St. John Valley of Aroostook County.

- The St. John Valley Partnership is a diverse organization whose mission is to educate the people of the upper St. John Valley about physical activity, nutrition, and tobacco prevention through initiatives that promote a healthy lifestyle.
The St. John Valley Partnership, a Healthy Maine Partnership, is a collaboration between Northern Maine Medical Center, Maine School Administrative Districts #27 (Fort Kent), #33 (St. Agatha), and the Madawaska School District.

WOWL Channel 16

- Madawaska's student supported local access television station operating on Channel 16 in the Time Warner cable system. Channel 16 is located at Madawaska High School and is situated in the old band room between the gymnasium and cafeteria. This unique location allows for easy video taping of school, community, and government events within these important and often used public rooms. WOWL operates a repeating VCR to provide 24 hour service to Time Warner subscribers from Allagash to Hamlin reaching approximately 4,500 households.
